“Go Purple” for Foster Care Awareness Month
At last week’s Essex County Board of Supervisors meeting, Together for Youth (formerly Berkshire Farm Center) promoted Foster Care Awareness Month and their current campaign, Go Purple. This initiative highlights the urgent need for foster families across New York State.

By pledging to Go Purple for Kids in Foster Care this May, you help raise awareness and send a message of hope, inclusion, and community support. Whether you’re an individual, group, or business, your participation matters. Your purple shines a light—and together, we can show every child in care that their community truly sees and supports them. For more information, visit www.togetherforyouth.org.

AVCS Project Prom
This week, my wife and I took part in Project Prom, a powerful and emotional distracted driving crash simulation at AVCS. The event served as a vivid reminder to students of the real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving. It also provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the coordination and readiness of our local emergency services.

All emergency agencies in the district participated, including Fire, Rescue, and Police. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in organizing and supporting this impactful event—it could help save lives.

Memorial Day Hours
The Town of Jay Community Center and Offices will be closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, May 27th.

Enjoy the holiday weekend,
Matt
