The total eclipse was an amazing experience in the Town of Jay, NY. Our various viewing locations saw almost 300 observers from around the Northeast. The The Dogfather Food Cart was onsite in the Grove and several local residents stopped in for lunch. I was fortunate enough to have discussions about our town with several people who were extremely grateful for our preparedness. I was able to gain insight from people coming to our town for the first time. I am glad to see these people came to our sites and did not gather on private property. I am also thankful for our emergency services and sheriff’s department for being on standby for any incidents that might have occurred. I will be putting together some photos that were taken around our town and in the Grove of people enjoying this experience. I have attached one to this update from a photographer at the Grove.

Yesterday we had a very informative meeting of the Town of Jay Economic Development Committee. James from In Site Architecture, the consultant for the NY Main Street Technical Assistance Grant, introduced himself and the path forward. In the coming days, the PRIDE of Ticonderoga will have a form for Main Street Au Sable Forks land owners to apply for being one of the buildings selected for this grant. Once the applications are received, 4-6 properties will be chosen for sight inspections to move forward within the process. These meetings are recorded and available online if you want to watch. If you are interested in more information, please reach out to my office in the meantime.

Just a reminder that the Town Board meeting is tomorrow night at 7:00pm. The agenda is online for the meeting and you can attend in person or virtually.

Hope you have a great week,
Matt.
