The Community Center ADA upgrade project is moving right along.  The lift to the second floor is finished and just waiting for an inspection to be able to open to the public for use.  Branon Construction has done the excavation for the ramp, poured the footers and are currently forming the walls to the ramp.  This project is on schedule for the new ramp to be usable by the end of July.  We are excited to finally have fully automatic doors, a new ramp and access to the second floor for everyone.  Attached is a photo of the progress.

The senior nutrition center will be closed next week and reopening on June 3rd.  During this time, there will be no meals on Monday and Wednesday, but the senior exercise programs will still take place.  Thank you for your understanding and can’t wait to see everyone back in the building for the meal program in June!

Next week, the water department will be working on replacing and upgrading the pressure tanks in the Jay Water District on Route 86.  The plan for this project has been well thought out by Water Superintendent Paul Mintz.   They have a mock setup in the Sheldrake Road building to have this all constructed to cut down on the time to replace.  A Voyent Alert will go out when this work begins to inform residents.

Tomorrow night, Thursday May 23rd, we will be holding a Special Board meeting at 6:00pm to discuss unsafe buildings and Junkyard Law violations in the Town of Jay.  This meeting will be for the property owner to address the Town of Jay Board.  The meeting will be open to the public at the Community Center or available online.

Hope you have a great week,
Matt.
