The Town of Jay was bustling this past weekend with activity!  There were concerts, sporting events, art shows and grand openings!  I wish I could have made it to every event, but time did not allow that.  I did spend some time at the Billy Mitchell Memorial Field helping Au Sable Forks Fast Pitch with the revival of the old fireman’s Slow Pitch Tournament.  The tournament welcomed 10 teams over the 3-day tournament to Au Sable Forks.  On Saturday evening, I joined several Town of Jay residents at the open house at the NewVida Craft Bar preview.  Attached you will see me with my Jalapeño Paloma.

Last week we held our Monthly Board Meeting at the Community Center.  The 2023 contract with Au Sable Forks Volunteer Service was signed and payment transferred this month.  Discussion about the 2024 contract will begin on August 4 to hopefully have an agreement in place before this year’s budget session.  Water and sewer billings were approved and mailed with a questionnaire about water user service lines.  The information from this questionnaire will assist us in a Lead Line inventory we are required by the New York State Department of Health to complete by next fall.   There were also updates for projects and reports from committees.  If you missed the meeting and would like to watch, it is available on our new website at: https://www.townofjayny.gov/meeting-minutes/

This coming Sunday, July 23, is Ironman.  We have been working with the race coordinators to bring positive impacts to our community.  In order to welcome people into the businesses in the Town of Jay, we will have a table set up in the Ironman Athlete Village to promote them.  If you have not contacted my office with information for our table, please do so as soon as possible.  If you have questions about travel around the region the day of the event, please visit: https://www.lakeplacid.com/events/ironman-traffic-impacts-july-23-2023

Hope you have a great week,

Matt.
