Town Board Meeting Recap
Yesterday the Town of Jay Town Board held its regular monthly meeting. During the meeting, the Board approved an update to the sliding scale exemption for residents aged 65 and older to clarify income thresholds within the program. The law is now in effect. If you are 65 or older and believe you may be income eligible, please contact the Town of Jay Assessor to see if you qualify.
I also provided updates on ongoing projects, informed the Board that the Essex County Land Bank was the high bidder on 39 Burt Lane in Au Sable Forks, and shared the good news that the Au Sable Forks Historic District is now listed on the National Register. If you would like to watch the meeting, it is available on our website at https://www.townofjayny.gov/meeting-minutes/.

Community Center Closed
The Community Center will be closed on Monday in observance of Presidents Day and will reopen Tuesday for normal hours. I will be attending the New York State Association of Towns training and annual meeting in New York City and will return to the office on Thursday.
Hope you have a great holiday weekend,
