Youth Commission Softball and Baseball
The Town of Jay and Town of Black Brook Youth Commission Softball and Baseball seasons kicked off this week. Grasshopper Baseball and Softball will be playing at home, at the Grove, tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM.
A huge thank you goes out to our volunteer coaches, supportive parents, the Town of Jay Parks and Highway Departments, and Flowering Meadow Nursery for their dedicated hours maintaining the fields, teaching and coaching, and helping transport our young athletes. It truly takes a village to make our facilities and programs the best they can be!
Garden in a Bucket
Thank you to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Essex County for bringing the “Garden in a Bucket” program to the Town of Jay. Prior to the weekly meal program at the Community Center, about 20 participants created their own garden using a 5-gallon bucket. Special thanks to Ward Lumber for generously donating the buckets. We hope this activity encourages more residents to participate in the meal program and get involved in our Community Garden in the Grove. Plots are still available—contact Town Clerk Carol Greenley Hackel to reserve yours today!
Congratulations to the AFFD
Thank you to the Au Sable Forks Fire Department for inviting me to speak at the grand opening of your new firehouse. It was an honor to congratulate you and welcome you into this new chapter. The updated facility will give you the space needed to operate safely and continue your outstanding service to our community. I look forward to joining you for breakfast once the new kitchen is up and running.
Enjoy the Weekend,
Matt
