Special Board Meeting
At the last Town Board meeting, the proposed Howitzer Range in the Town of Lewis was discussed, as the project is scheduled to come before the Adirondack Park Agency on February 4. Following that discussion, the Board decided to invite Unconventional Concepts Inc. to present information about the proposal directly to the Town of Jay Town Board.

A special Town Board meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 20 at 7:00 pm for this purpose. Unconventional Concepts President Michael Hopmeier will address the Board and provide an overview of the proposed project.

County Appointments
Last week, the Essex County Board of Supervisors elected Town of Minerva Supervisor Steve McNally as the new Chairman of the Board. With this leadership change and the swearing in of seven new Town Supervisors, Essex County committee assignments and board appointments have been updated.

I am now serving as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee and the EMS Subcommittee. I remain a member of the Human Services, Public Safety, Public Works, and Intergovernmental Committees. I also continue to serve on several other boards and task forces.

Public Art Meeting Recap
Last night, we held an informational meeting about the public art mural being developed through the Essex County Land Bank’s Artscape project, which will be installed this summer. Approximately twenty community members attended to learn how public art can help transform a community.

Following the presentation, attendees were invited to share feedback and ideas about what they would like to see reflected in the mural, which will be located on the Ausable Theater. If you would like to view the presentation, it is available at https://youtu.be/TMU4ZIMnyy8?si=pnh5cfiCNhKwyvNY.

Community feedback is still being collected. If you would like to participate, please complete the Public Art Survey at https://form.jotform.com/253175798633167.
