Local Law #1 of 2025 redefines income thresholds for residents 65 years and older to qualify for a partial real property tax exemption. Seniors with income up to $29,000 may receive a 50% exemption on the Town’s general municipal taxes, with partial exemptions gradually decreasing for incomes up to $37,399.99. Applicants must comply with New York State Real Property Tax Law Section 467. The law took effect during the 2026 tax season.
