Water Main Break Successfully Repaired A huge shoutout to our Town of Jay Water/Sewer and Highway Staff! Last Sunday, we experienced a water main break near Jay Village Green. Our team responded immediately, notifying the Department of Health, and within hours, the break was repaired, and water service was fully restored. Attention Vacation/Short-Term Rental (STR) Owners: New York State is enacting a law requiring all STR units to be registered and subject to sales tax. The law, currently awaiting final approval of Chapter Amendments from Governor Hochul, is expected to take effect by the end of the year.   While the requirement in the Town of Jay to register with Essex County isn’t new, additional fines will soon apply for non-compliance.
