This past week I was able to attend the Common Ground Alliance Conference at Gore Mountain. This group was created years ago to be a forum to discuss issues and help find common ground between state and local government, business owners, and residents. The Town of Jay would like to welcome back Paul Mintz as a full time employee. Paul has been filling in as our Water/Wastewater Operator for the last six weeks. During the monthly meeting, the Town Board created the 2 positions for Water/Wastewater, an Operator (Department Head) and an Assistant Operator. After the meeting, Paul accepted the job of Operator. He will begin in his full-time capacity on October 30th. [...]

On Saturday, the Town of Jay received over 5 ½ inches of rain and the AuSable River crested at almost 9 feet. We decided to close Carey Road and Grove Road due to flood waters over the roadway.
