Town Board Meeting Recap
The Town of Jay Town Board met last night for its regular monthly meeting. The recorded session is available to view on our website.
During the meeting, Councilman Forbes proposed a community time capsule project to be placed in front of the Community Center to commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation. We will seek community input on this project over the summer. Councilor Dwyer also provided an update from the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities (RERC) steering committee, announcing an upcoming community workshop scheduled for September 22nd and 23rd. This workshop will gather resident feedback to help strengthen our local recreation economy. Please keep an eye out for more information on both of these community-oriented initiatives.
Thank You for a Successful 4th of July
I would like to extend a huge thank you to the Jay Volunteer Fire Department and Christmas in the Forks for their collaboration on a very successful Independence Day weekend. The festivities began with our traditional parade and field day at the Jay Fire Department on Saturday. This year, the event was extended through Sunday, allowing Santore’s World Famous Fireworks to put on a breathtaking display that residents have been talking about all week. Thank you to everyone who worked hard to make this weekend possible for our community.
