Town Board Meeting Recap

The Town of Jay Town Board held its regular monthly meeting last night at the Community Center. We received excellent news from Water and Sewer Superintendent Paul Mintz; Town of Jay Highway employee and part-time laborer Trevor Karl has passed his Wastewater Grade 1 exam. This gives the Town of Jay three certified wastewater operators. Congratulations to Trevor on this significant professional accomplishment.

The Dog Control Officer provided an update on the successful rabies clinic held at the Jay Fire Department. He distributed over 20 applications for dog registrations, and we would like to remind everyone that all dogs in the Town of Jay should be licensed.

Additionally, a final reminder that Amnesty Day is happening tomorrow at the highway garage from 7:00 am until 1:00 pm, or until the dumpsters are full.

Public Art Update

If you have passed the AuSable Theater recently, you likely noticed activity at the site of the upcoming Mural Project. The wall has been prepped, primed, and is ready for the artwork to be installed.

The artist, Miss Teal, will arrive in town this weekend and begin work next week alongside two local artist apprentices. As part of the Walls Between Waters Mural Festival, Miss Teal will give an artist talk at the Town of Jay Community Center on June 1st at 6:00 pm in the gymnasium. Please also join us for the mural dedication at the site on June 5th starting at 6:00 pm, which will feature live music, food trucks, and various activities.

I hope you have a great weekend,

Matt
