Attention Au Sable Forks Downtown Property Owners
The Town of Jay is considering applying for a New York Main Street (NYMS) Grant to help revitalize downtown Au Sable Forks, and we need your input!

We’re looking for commercial or mixed-use buildings in the downtown area that may benefit from funding to support:
• Façade and storefront improvements
• Interior renovations (for commercial or residential units)
• Streetscape enhancements like signage, benches, and greenery

To move forward, we need interest from at least 4–5 property owners.
If you own a qualifying building, please fill out the interest form here: https://form.jotform.com/251705848616161

Let’s invest in our historic downtown and bring new life to Main Street!

WiFi and Camera Installation
The Town of Jay, in partnership with the Essex County IT Department, is working to expand WiFi access and install surveillance cameras at key community locations, including the Community Center, Riverside Park (behind Tops), and the Grove Fields.

This project has been in development for nearly a year, with major support from the Town of Jay Highway and Water/Sewer Departments, who have been helping run wire and infrastructure. Once complete, the upgrades will provide:
• Public WiFi access to improve communication in areas with poor cell service
• Camera systems to monitor and enhance safety at town parks and public spaces in the Hamlet of Au Sable Forks.  Barring any delays, these improvements are expected to be completed by the end of the summer. A big thank you to everyone who’s helped make this project a reality!

CDBG Housing Grant Applications Open
The Town of Jay has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to help eligible homeowners make critical repairs and safety improvements to their homes.

This grant is available to households with incomes at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Eligible improvements may include:
• Lead paint and asbestos remediation
• Structural and safety-related repairs

Priority will be given to homes with seniors or children. For details on how to apply, please see the flyer from the North Country Rural Development Coalition, who is administering the program on our behalf.

Congratulations, Class of 2025!
A heartfelt congratulations to all of this year’s high school graduates! We’re proud of your achievements and excited to see what you accomplish next.
